The Truth About
Memory Foam :
Memory Foam is not
really foam, but a material called Visco Elastic that was
invented by NASA. It is an open celled, body heat & weight
sensitive material that creates a zero gravity pressure
relief to the sleeper.
At McLeary's....we
believe Memory Foam is a great product to sleep on, but
buyer beware ! A true visco elastic is in the 5.3 - 5.9 lb.
density range and whenever you start hearing about a
superior product, lower quality imitations seem to come out
of the woodwork. There are now 5, 4, and 3 lb. densities
available, but these are not a true visco elastic material,
they are polyurethane foam with some characteristics of
memory foam. Be careful to investigate where the product
comes from, as there are lower quality versions coming from
overseas that have an odor and will not last. |
